After restraining Kanzaki with dark matter-infused alloy restraints, we sent him to the rear as a prisoner, and Kanehama and I once again headed out to persuade the enemy soldiers.
However, not long after, we were unfortunately met with interference from the enemy.
“I won’t let you do whatever you want any longer!”
Shouting that, a man with long blond hair charged at us. The last of the high-priority targets, Kato Junya, wielder of the skill «Weaken».
The skill «Weaken» causes irreversible reductions in status. While it has the drawback of requiring physical contact with the target, it is generally considered a terrifying ability.
However, since this skill is a type of debuff, it is ineffective against those with high resistance to debuffs in the first place.
Furthermore, the reduction in stats is based on the user’s own ability, so against someone overwhelmingly stronger, it doesn’t even have the effect of a strand of hair.
And Kanehama satisfies both of those conditions, meaning that even if Kato touches him, it has no effect whatsoever.
Kanehama casually caught Kato’s punch and let out an exasperated sigh.
“So now it’s you, Kato.”
“You’re pretty good, Kanehama! But are you sure you want to keep touching me?”

There was no problem at all. However, it seemed Kato himself didn’t realize that, as he wore a confident grin.
“If that’s what you want…”
Deliberately playing along with Kato’s provocation, Kanehama used the arm he had grabbed to throw him.
“Guh! Not bad!”
Kato managed to land on his feet after being thrown. Considering Kanehama hadn’t even used a tenth, no, not even a hundredth of his strength, the outcome was already obvious.
Understanding that there was no chance of losing, Kanehama shifted into conversation. After all, their role was to persuade enemy combatants.
“Hey, Kato. Don’t tell me you’re doing something this stupid even though you’re not being controlled by Naito?”
“What do you mean stupid?! I’ve got my own dream, and that’s why I’m siding with Naito!”
Oh? It seemed Kato had his own reasoning.
“And what kind of dream is that?”
Kanehama asked with clear disbelief. Kato responded proudly.
“It’s to create a world of men, by men, for men only!”
(E/N: Men ONLY?! I have a bad feeling…)
He declared it boldly, but neither Kanehama-kun nor I could quite grasp what he meant, and we both tilted our heads.
“Hey, Kato. What exactly do you mean by that?”
“You don’t get it? Figures. A weakling like you, messing around with soft women, wouldn’t understand!”
Judging from his words, I had a bad feeling about where this was going.
“I’m not like weaklings like you! True men love each other! That’s what it means to be a real man! And to make that happen, we’ve gotta dominate those weaklings and make them understand! That’s why I’m siding with Naito!”
I see. I see.
In other words, Kato was homosexual.
And beyond that, he rejected any form of relationship other than love between men. Therefore, in order to eliminate male-female relationships from the world, he had chosen to side with Naito.
“Are you an idiot?”
Kanehama muttered instinctively, and I wholeheartedly agreed.
