While Yuito was locked in fierce combat with Gargouille in the open sea, Jin sped along the road toward Beijing.
The one who had summoned him was the top of China's Hunter Guild, Chairman Li Wei.
There was no need to ask the reason for the summons. It was about Hunter Matsubara, who was currently stirring up China.
Right now, his name sat at the center of the storm online. Yet rather than words of welcome or praise, the overwhelming majority of voices cried, “Defeat the Japanese hunter!”
The mass slaughter of hunters before the S-rank dungeon.
The annihilation of a criminal organization on LOVEAND69 Street.
Eyewitness accounts of those incidents had spread across the internet, violently stirring the pride of the Chinese people.
And now, the public was demanding a “hero who would slay the Japanese hunter”.
But to Jin, who knew the truth, that fervor looked like nothing more than madness.
The root of this entire uproar lay in the Chairman’s schemes.
A plot to send in S-rank hunters belonging to the underground to be crushed, then kill Hunter Matsubara, a valuable Japanese asset capable of repelling such forces, and use that as a pretext to invade Japan once again.
He had done nothing wrong. Yet fools blinded by bounty money swarmed him, only to be struck down.
Though they had brought it upon themselves, responsibility for that blood also lay with the Chairman.
Jin ground his back teeth.
If only he had the power…
But reality was merciless. He had no strength to oppose it, and depending on what he said or did, danger could reach his family.
…All he could do was obey orders.

A steady knocking echoed.
“Enter.”
A low voice responded.
“Excuse me.”
Jin quietly opened the door.
The Chairman’s office. Thick carpeting and an ebony desk.
Stopping before the desk, Jin stood as the seated Chairman turned toward him and spoke.
“Jin, sorry to leave that brat in your care.”
“No, it is my duty.”
The Chairman let out a deep sigh.
“That brat… he’s persistent. Despite the bounty hunters swarming him, they’re only being cut down.”
“Yes. Around ten assassins launched a night raid. All were killed.”
“The original plan was to use them as expendables, grind him down physically and mentally. Yet he shows no signs of exhaustion. I hear he’s even conquering S-rank dungeons as we speak.”
“Yes. I’ve observed him carefully. He appears completely natural, but… there isn’t a single opening.”
The Chairman’s gaze sharpened.
“There are rumors online that he possesses a ‘Unique Skill’. Have you uncovered anything?”
“No. He refused accompaniment during dungeon raids, so there is no new information.”
“His guard still hasn’t lowered… If we waste more time, public pressure will intensify. The Guild’s prestige is at stake. No matter who it is, I will not tolerate anyone who makes light of us.”
Hearing this, Jin silently straightened his posture.
“Then what is our course of action?”
“We will summon〈Kowloon〉and〈Hunting King • Regalia〉.”
Jin’s eyes flickered.
“I understand〈Kowloon〉… but〈Hunting King • Regalia〉as well?”
“Yes. As a precaution, that man will observe the brat’s combat. He will not participate directly.”
“Understood.”
“Once preparations are complete, I’ll contact you. Bring the brat to the designated location. That is all.”
“Understood.”
“Good. You may leave.”
“Excuse me.”
Jin bowed deeply and exited the room.
The moment he stepped into the hallway, the breath he had been holding slipped from his chest.
The forces now set to move were the nation’s leading force,〈Kowloon〉,and the supreme human weapon,〈Hunting King • Regalia〉.
Worried for his family and the future of his country, Jin turned back toward Matsubara Hunter.
