Konbini Ossan Volume 9 Chapter 15 — The Ultimate Technique of «Super Acceleration»
As if resetting the flow of battle, Yairo moves again.
“This time for sure!”
Once more, Yairo circles behind the homunculus.
“I won’t fall for the same trick twice!”
As it declares this, the homunculus slams its fist into the ground.
It appears to possess aura-type magic power, and the moment its fist strikes the floor, a shockwave erupts.
An attack spreads out in all directions.
“Guh!”
Yairo instinctively creates distance. However, in a confined underground space, even evading is difficult.
Though she barely avoids the shockwave, she has no room to counterattack. Seeing this, the homunculus presses its advantage.
“Gahahaha! I’ll crush you just like this!”
The homunculus continues slamming its fists into the ground, cornering Yairo. Its movements are calculated, and the continuous shockwaves restrict her mobility.
Even so, Yairo steels herself.
“It can’t be helped… then I’ll use this!”
She picks up scattered debris and fragments of equipment from the surroundings, placing them in her palm.
“«Super Acceleration», full power!”
The moment Yairo declares it, the effect is immediate.
Objects imbued with tremendous speed through «Super Acceleration» are launched toward the homunculus.
Carrying immense kinetic energy, the fragments strike the homunculus one after another.
With dull thuds, they pierce into its body, causing it to groan in pain.
“Guaaaah! Th-This much won’t-!”
Though enduring the damage, the homunculus swings its arms, but the barrage of shockwaves weakens.
Thanks to that, Yairo breaks free from the encirclement and gains breathing room.
“This finishes it!”
Yairo picks up a particularly large chunk of debris, big enough to hold in both arms, and launches it using «Super Acceleration».
With its increased mass, the destructive power of the high-speed projectile becomes immense.
The moment it collides with the homunculus’s body, the overwhelming kinetic energy detonates.
***DO-GOOOM!***
A massive explosion resounds.
“Ugaaaah!”
The unleashed energy ravages the homunculus’s body, tearing apart its entire form down to its limbs.
Bleeding from all over, the homunculus collapses.
“My victory… then.”
Seeing it fall, Yairo exhales in relief.
That attack was likely her ultimate technique.
The fatigue in her expression shows just how much power she poured into «Super Acceleration».
“Good work, Yairo. You did well.”
“Yes. It was stronger than expected, but I managed. I’m glad I kept that technique hidden.”
“Indeed. Though now, Metidovan has likely realized we’re employing tactics. It’s about time we withdraw.”
After exchanging words, Yairo and I nod and decide to retreat.
“Guh… I won’t… let you…”
A voice comes from the homunculus… it seems it is not yet dead.
“So it’s still alive.”
It’s best to reduce the enemy’s strength as much as possible.
I generate a large amount of cursed sludge, filling the underground chamber.
“Gwoooah! Wh-What is this?!”
Being consumed by curses and having its body eroded must be a new sensation.
The homunculus, controlled by Metidovan, cannot regenerate fast enough as its body steadily crumbles.
In a matter of seconds, all the experimental equipment in the chamber, and the homunculus itself, dissolve and vanish.
“Let’s go, Yairo. We’re returning.”
“Yes!”
And so, Yairo and I made our escape from the fortress.
