Konbini Ossan Volume 8 Chapter 5 — Adventurer Party, Brave Wings
The name of that adventurer party is “Brave Wings.”
It is an adventurer party formed by those among the summoned heroes working for Otsugi Trading who possess particularly high ability.
Originally, the party began as something of a hobby, but by now their activities have become fully fledged, and there are times when they take on material-gathering requests through direct contracts with Otsugi Trading.
As for the party members themselves, first there is the leader, Nishina Yuki, who possesses the skill «Magic Nullification».
Next is the vice leader and founding member, Mayama Shozo, who has the skill «Absolute Appraisal».
Serving as supervisors are the former school nurse, Suzuhara Ayumi, with «Complete Recovery», and former homeroom teacher, Kinoshita Tomoe, with «Assassination Arts».
And finally, there is Suzuno Misa, who once caused numerous problems while working at Otsugi Trading, and who wields «Charm Magic».
These five form the core members of Brave Wings.
“So? You think mere adventurers can take us on?”
Satira raised her voice, clearly irritated.
“Well, I believe these five would be more than enough to face the soldiers behind you.”
“They are elites of the Demon King’s Army. They are not ordinary soldiers, you know?”
“Yes. I’m aware of that.”
In fact, their magic particle quantities and other metrics have already been properly measured.
Based on those values, the order of engagement has been decided, so this outcome is only natural.
Besides, to put it bluntly, they aren’t just ordinary adventurers on our side either — they are summoned heroes.
“Then for the First Checkpoint, it will be the adventurer party ‘Brave Wings’ versus the elite soldiers of the Demon King’s Army. Is that acceptable?”
“Hmph. That’s exactly what we want. Don’t start complaining later and blame it on the difference in numbers.”
“Of course.”
I replied lightly, brushing off Satira’s provocative attitude.
“Then! Both sides, take your stances.”
At my declaration, the members of Brave Wings stepped forward.
“We’re going to fight with the intention of ending it right here!”
Speaking confidently, the one who stepped out front was Nishina. She held a large shield and a one-handed sword, serving as the party’s tank.
“Chairman! If we win, please make sure to keep your promise about that!”
Next to step forward was Mayama. Because he thought they looked cool, his chosen weapons were a pair of handguns, special magic tools that fire bullets formed from magic power.
Incidentally, “that” refers to the production of a new gun made specifically for Mayama.
From time to time, he acquires custom equipment through arrangements like this. The twin handguns he is currently using were also obtained in the same way.
“More importantly, make sure you don’t get hurt,” said Suzuhara-sensei, who serves as the party’s healer, admonishing the two as they got fired up.
She appears to use healing magic and is equipped with a staff that enhances that type of spell.
“Well, I’ll be guarding you from the rear. So please don’t worry, Suzuhara-sensei.”
Saying this as she stepped in front of Suzuhara with a dagger in hand was Kinoshita-sensei.
In addition to the dagger, she carried multiple concealed weapons, serving the party as a scout and skirmisher.
“I’m going to show them what I can do!”
Finally, the one who spoke while raising her staff was Suzuno.
She forms the core of the party’s ranged firepower as a rear-line offensive mage, standing in the back alongside Suzuhara.
With the five members of Brave Wings having taken their stances and completed their preparations, the elite soldiers of the Demon King’s Army also appeared ready.
They split into vanguard and rear guard, each drawing their equipment and entering a combat-ready posture.
Both sides were prepared. At last, the First Checkpoint battle was about to commence.
“Then, please begin the match!”
With my declaration, the battle finally began.
