Konbini Ossan Volume 8 Chapter 6 — Mayama Shōzō
The first to move was Shōzō.
“Hahahaha! Take this! Crimson Bullet of Annihilation!”
Declaring it enthusiastically, he raised his twin handguns and began firing in rapid succession.
Using suppressive fire while sprinting sideways, he prevented the elite soldiers’ vanguard from charging all at once.
At the same time, any soldier struck by his bullets was dealt solid damage.
Incidentally, the Crimson Bullet of Annihilation he was shouting about is merely a technique name he came up with as a hobby.
The reason his magic bullets are red has no special effect either; he simply modified the guns so that they would turn red because he liked it that way.
That said, Shōzō’s ability is the real deal. His current status looks like this.

Shōzō’s attribute is Earth, which helps harden his magic bullets and further increase their power.
And now, this is where Shōzō truly shines.

An angel who appeared to be the leader of the elite soldiers shouted an order, which the rear-line angels immediately acted upon.
They took aim at Shōzō, preparing to unleash magic attacks.
However, Shōzō reacted as if he had known everything in advance.
“Useless! Before the power of my Absolute Vision, you’re helpless!”
Still riding the hype, he fired bullets the instant the angels attempted to activate their magic, disrupting them.
Every shot was timed perfectly, each one struck at the exact moment when, if given even a little more time, the enemy would have successfully cast their spell.
This is the true strength of Shōzō’s «Absolute Appraisal».
The effect of the «Absolute Appraisal» skill is to unfailingly appraise anything.
By making constant use of this, Shōzō continuously appraises the signs of incoming attacks, allowing him to act as though he possesses precognition.
His choice of twin handguns is also ideal for delivering swift, precise preemptive strikes against those attack precursors.
The flashy technique name and his slightly playful demeanor may make him seem unserious, but his combat ability is unquestionable.
Before long, as his bullets were spread across the rear line as well, some of the vanguard soldiers closed in on Shōzō.
“Take this!”
“Useless, useless!”

Naturally, he read the signs in advance and evaded with ease.
Because he relies so heavily on «Absolute Appraisal», his endurance stat hasn’t grown much, which is a minor flaw.
Still, the benefits far outweigh that weakness, and even in close combat, Shōzō’s fighting ability does not falter.
Immediately after evading an attack, Shōzō used his gun to knock aside his opponent’s sword, entwined the enemy’s arm, threw him to the ground, and then fired a rapid volley of magic bullets directly into his face.
This movement, which Shōzō himself calls Gun Kata, is precisely why he serves as a front-line combatant for the party Brave Wings, despite wielding firearms.
However, even so, being outnumbered is outnumbered.
If Shōzō were completely surrounded with no room to escape, the benefits of «Absolute Appraisal» would become meaningless.
The one who fills that weakness is the party’s tank, Nishina.
Seizing the opening created while Shōzō was engaged in close combat, the enemy rear line unleashed a simultaneous volley of magic attacks.
Seeing this, Shōzō immediately retreated.
“Nishina, switch!”
At his call, Nishina stepped forward, swapping places with him.
From here on, it would be Nishina’s stage.
