Konbini Ossan Volume 8 Chapter 19 — The Fourth Checkpoint
Leading the members of the Demon King’s army, we proceed to the fourth checkpoint.
At first, Satira walked while leaning on the shoulder of one of the elite angel soldiers, but as her stamina gradually recovered, she was soon able to stand and walk firmly on her own.
Those with high stats also possess strong natural healing abilities.
While her wounds may not visibly close before our eyes, she has recovered enough that walking poses no issue.
At last, we arrive at the fourth checkpoint.
Waiting there is a figure clad in full-body armor.
However, this is not medieval knight’s armor. It is a powered suit resembling an enhanced exoskeleton, created as the ultimate masterpiece of Otogi Trading’s technology.
Its design is futuristic, looking less like armor and more like something a hero in an anime might wear.
And the one wearing it is yet another of my wives.
“Thank you for waiting.”
When I call out, the armored figure removes her helmet, revealing her face.
“Not at all. I only just finished preparations, Yūichi-dono.”
The one who smiles at me is one of my wives and the current “former” Captain of the Royal Knights, Marceline.
After registering our marriage, she became Marceline Otogi. While retaining her status as a royal knight, she stepped down from the position of Captain.
Now she works as a liaison between Otogi Trading and the kingdom, and from time to time, she visits the knights as an instructor due to her former position.
The armor Marceline now wears is Otogi Trading’s crowning achievement: a full-body magic-tool armor in the form of a powered exoskeleton.
Its name is “Transcend Armor”.
It enhances physical abilities.
It reduces damage and deploys barriers that deflect and repel magic.
It reinforces the armor’s own durability and amplifies magic power, assisting in spell activation.
It is also equipped with numerous support functions designed for all manner of specialized operations.
Furthermore, by combining it with enhancement parts, it can be further customized according to mission needs.
Its drawbacks, however, are that mass production is extremely difficult, and maintenance and upkeep require significant effort.
For these reasons, only the single suit currently worn by Marceline exists, and it remains under development.
At present, Marceline’s Transcend Armor, commonly referred to as TA, is tuned specifically for one-on-one combat.
The time taken for preparation and fine-tuning required for that configuration likely explains why she said she had only just finished preparations.
“So, the next opponent is that oddly dressed armored-one?”
Vladgaria murmurs as she gazes at the TA with interest.
“Yes. This enhanced exoskeleton-type powered suit, Transcend Armor, is Otogi Trading’s greatest masterpiece and represents our highest combat force as a weapon.”
“Oh? This is your highest combat force?”
“Yes. However, there exist individuals whose strength would generate a load that even the Transcend Armor, TA for short, could not withstand with our current technology.
…
Therefore, it is not the absolute highest combat force of Otogi Trading as a whole.”
As I explain to Vladgaria, I turn my gaze toward Leonis, who is to be the next challenger.
“Now then, it is your turn next, Leonis-san, correct?”
“Yes, that is correct.”
Leonis appears highly motivated, his expression gleaming with intensity.
Satira was a formidable opponent, but Leonis should be even stronger.
After all, he declared himself the strongest among the Four Heavenly Kings of the Demon King’s army.
In terms of stat equivalence, it would not be unreasonable to assume he reaches SS at maximum.
That said, Marceline’s stats are as follows, and she is by no means inferior.

The skill «Stormblitz» is a passive skill that increases speed, and thanks to it, Marceline’s speed reaches SS.
Furthermore, with the support provided by the TA, her other stats should also approach SS.
I have heard it in conversations that she is feared as the “Thunder Flash”, named after her overwhelming speed and the lightning magic she unleashes alongside her blade.
Her combat ability, technique, and experience are all exceptional. She should not be inferior to Leonis in the slightest.
