Once【Ice Magic】and【Lightning Magic】hit the levels I wanted, I found the entrance leading to the boss room.

I walked down a long corridor lit by torchlight and, without taking a break, placed my hand on the boss room door.

When I stepped about halfway inside, a light sphere dropped from above and shone brightly.

The monster that appeared was only slightly larger than a regular Treant — an Elder Treant.

I checked its status with【Discernment】, but except for higher attributes and skill levels, it didn’t have any special boss-only abilities.

That meant its fighting style wouldn’t be any different either. I’d just rush in and finish it quickly.

I kicked off hard, closed the distance in an instant, and cut it diagonally with Balmung.

The staff was wooden, with a crystal orb at the tip split into yellow and light blue. I couldn’t see its effects yet, but it was obviously meant for a magic-oriented Hunter.

I used the magic circle to return outside, then requested buyout and appraisal.


“The materials come to 24 million. As for this staff, it’s the《Staff of the Wise Ent》. It has two effects: it increases damage from【Ice Magic】and【Lightning Magic】by 40 percent, and grants Magic Power +40 and Intelligence +40.”


“Thank you.”


As expected, it was gear for magic users. Since I was a High Assassin and had Balmung, I had no intention of using this staff.

On the way home, I stopped by a diner and ordered a katsudon and miso soup set. It was delicious, so I ordered two more rounds before leaving.

I rubbed my full stomach as I headed home and arrived at my house.
