I headed home in high spirits. The reason was simple: the payout for the Flame Wyverns was insanely high.

The buyout price for thirteen Flame Wyverns came to a staggering 5.2 billion yen.

Even if they’re a subspecies, dragon-type materials are extremely rare, and selling the corpses whole brought in that number.

But I couldn’t let it get to my head. They fetch such a high price because they’re difficult to hunt and the supply is low.

If I hunted them too easily and started flooding the market, their value would drop and the purchase price would fall.

And it wasn’t just my problem.

Other clans worked hard to prevent Stampedes, so dumping huge amounts into circulation would cause trouble for them too.

I needed to keep my hunts spaced out.

Besides, with earnings like this, I didn’t have to worry about money anymore. I could stick to A-rank and below for a while.

I headed straight for the bath after returning home. I washed away the sweat and fatigue, changed into my loungewear, and went to the living room.

The last time I checked my status was after clearing the A-rank dungeon with the Liches.

Since then, I’d cleared the A-rank dungeon with Living Armors, and just now the S-rank dungeon.

My level hadn’t risen much, but my stats had increased by an average of about 1,400. Last time was an average of 2,300 — a bit lower this time.

That was because I’d gained seventeen levels previously, whereas this time only six.

Plus, the huge number of Skeleton Knights the Lich had generated for me to defeat made a big difference.

Now then — aside from my top priority skill【Subterfuge】, several skills were approaching their limits.

The detection skills, resistance skills, and concealment skills were especially important.

Detection meant better scouting, resistance meant improved endurance, and concealment directly affected my fighting style.

I needed to keep hunting monsters and raising these levels. I grew faster than anyone else, so I had to make the most of it.

As for my newly acquired title—

 • A title awarded to one who single-handedly defeats a dragon, the highest class of monster;

 • When fighting dragon-type monsters, all stats × 1.5.

Between this title and Balmung’s dragon-slayer effect, I might be able to defeat dragons next time without nearly as much struggle.

I had been raising【Subterfuge】as my top priority so that my Unique Skill would never be exposed.

Now that it reached level 10, even someone with【Discernment】Lv.10 couldn’t see my status.

I could finally carry out my hunter activities with peace of mind.

Just as I finished checking everything, Mom finished preparing dinner.

Dad still wasn’t home yet, so I ate alone, then sprawled on the sofa and began watching videos.

    If the MC has the appraisal or discernment skill, why does he always need to have the guild staff appraise materials and new items?

      Apologies for the confusion but, the MTL translated:
      > [ 看破 ] or (literally) "Insight/Discern/Intuition" as "Appraisal" which was wrong and I hadn't noticed till the Guild staffs' skill was revealed;
      > [ 鑑定 ] or (literally) "Appraisal/Evaluation" which is generally used in these stories as the Appraisal skill;
      > Now, I have rectified the mistake and although it wasn't explained by the author originally, I believe Discernment and Appraisal are different skills because:
      1. Discernment skill reveals strength, basically stats, of another Hunter, Monsters and/or other living organisms;
      2. Appraisal skill, that Guild staffs possess, only works on non-living things like Dungeon Drops, Armor, Weapons, etc.

      According to author, Hunters don't invest Skill Points in Appraisal because it is a waste and Discernment is more practical. I hope that clears up the confusion.
