For some reason, the staff member hesitated.

When I was promoted to D-rank, I’d been warned that C-rank dungeons were significantly harder — but even then, they hadn’t been this hesitant.

Following the Guildmaster, I was led into his office. He gestured for me to sit on the reception sofa, and the same staff member from earlier brought in tea.

“Thank you.”


After taking a sip to wet my throat, I set the cup down — and the Guildmaster began to speak.

With that, he bowed deeply.

I could earn more than enough once I started tackling A-rank dungeons. I wasn’t exactly short on money anyway.


“Understood. We’ll make sure it’s used well. But if you refuse all reward, it’ll reflect poorly on the Guild. Is there anything else you’d like instead?”


“Then, if I ever run into trouble or have a request in the future, I’d like to ask for your help at that time.”


“Very well. I can’t promise to grant unreasonable demands, but anything else — you have my word as Guildmaster that I’ll help.”
