So that was the cause. The bloodlust that had surged through me earlier came from the title’s effect.

It must have reacted to the shield-bearer’s killing intent. Once there was no one left around who harbored murderous intent, the title’s effect likely faded.

“So just like the description says… it’s literally a title that turns you into a murderer, huh.”

Sure, I had fought back against PK hunters who attacked me first, but I never killed for the sake of it.

And yet, I still ended up getting this title — which means the system only counts the fact that I killed someone, not the reason behind it.

“Sigh… well, at least it doesn’t make me attack people indiscriminately. Still, I never found out who those guys really were.”

Oh well. There’s some info about PKs online. Once I get home, I’ll look it up. With such a distinctive look, I should find at least one match.

The Vorpaltinger flapped its wings and zipped around above me at high speed. Then, in the middle of its circling, it turned toward me — and vanished.

I ducked and dodged the scythe swinging at my neck from behind and countered, slicing it clean in two with the blade of water.
