Soul Devourer Chapter 1 Episode 28 — The Dangerous Title

The masked swordsman drew a longsword from his belt and closed the distance with quick, sharp movements, swinging it down at me.

He must have been wary of【Stealth】, because his relentless attacks gave me no chance to activate it.

But after crossing blades several times, I realized something — my stats and skill were both superior to his.

That meant I could handle him easily, without much effort. The shield-bearer and mage watching from behind didn’t seem inclined to assist him either.

In that case!

I deflected the longsword with a strong swing, ready to shift from defense to offense, when the swordsman suddenly leaped back to widen the gap.

The next moment, a pillar of fire erupted beneath my feet, engulfing me in flames. Thanks to my【Fire Magic Resistance】, I didn’t burn to death right away.

When the flames subsided, I stood there without a single burn, and I could feel their momentary unease.

I didn’t miss the opening and unleashed a blade of water, but the shield-bearer rushed forward and blocked it.

The mage immediately followed up, casting another【Fire Magic】spell — countless fireballs appeared overhead and rained down with explosive force.

I activated【Stealth】instantly and dashed toward them. They turned their backs to each other, watching the surroundings cautiously.

The next moment, the mage’s head was severed, blood spraying into the air.

I mimicked the mage’s【Fire Magic】, and a fierce pillar of fire engulfed the swordsman. If his Spirit stat was close to mine and he had【Fire Magic Resistance】, he might have survived… maybe.

When the flames vanished, what remained was a charred figure, barely breathing.

So, with my current Intelligence, I couldn’t kill him in a single strike…

I drove my dagger into his head, finishing him off.
