After selling the materials and getting the robe appraised, I headed home.

Once I washed off the sweat in the bath and finished dinner, I lay down on my bed and started scrolling through my phone.

What I was looking into was that eerie party I’d encountered — the ones wearing the similar masks and robes.

A few results came up right away, but there wasn’t much detailed information.

Apparently, those people were Hunters belonging to a clan called「Grim Reaper」.

Ordinarily, a clan’s activities would include dungeon raids, collecting resources like materials and magic stones, and culling monsters to prevent Stampedes.

But「Grim Reaper」was different.

They were said to commit robberies, assaults, and even murders — and their crimes weren’t limited to dungeons. There had been civilian victims as well.

Even so, no one seemed to know who their clan master was, how many members they had, or where their base of operations was located.

In the first place, they weren’t officially recognized by the Hunter Guild. The name was entirely self-proclaimed, so people treated them like an urban legend.

I’d like to gather more details and report them to the Hunter Guild to stop more victims from appearing… but with〘Serial Killer〙, that’s not really an option.

If I tried to question anyone who had murderous intent, I’d probably end up killing them before getting any information.


“I really need to figure out a way to incapacitate people without killing them… well, I can think about that later.”

Most of the monsters and Hunters I’ve fought so far have relied on physical abilities, which explains the large boost in my physical stats.

And since Hunters tend to have more skills than monsters, my existing skills have leveled up, and I’ve gained new ones as well.

I don’t plan to go out of my way to hunt other Hunters, but the rewards are undeniably better.


“What about those Hunters who turn to crime, then? People who attack the innocent — do they even deserve to exist… wait, hold on. My thinking’s getting extreme.”


I must be getting overconfident because I’ve been growing steadily stronger.

Even if my growth rate is faster than most, there will always be people stronger than me.

I took a breath to refocus and cleared my head.


“I wonder if any new jobs have been unlocked.”

Two new jobs had been unlocked〔Guardian〕seemed to be a shield-based version of〔Sword Saint〕, while〔Assassin〕granted a +1 level bonus to【Stealth】.

I immediately changed jobs.

Lastly, the pitch-black robe I got from the treasure chest was called the《Hermit’s Robe》. It apparently made its wearer harder to detect.

After that, I fell asleep while watching videos of Hunters who also worked as streamers.
