“My apologies. It was rude of me to lecture a young hunter like you, full of potential.

“A collaborator?”
“Yes. When we’re struggling to handle something, we’d like to request your help as an external ally. Of course, there’s no obligation, and you’d keep all the spoils for yourself.”

“I don’t see how that benefits your clan.”
“The main reason is simple — we don’t want another clan to recruit you. I doubt you’d do that, judging from your words earlier, but it’s a precaution.

After the bold things I’d said before, it felt a bit awkward — but it was a generous offer.

“Well then, we’ll take our leave.”

Shigeo-san picked up the bill, and the two of them left.

I’d already fought the monsters here before, so I reached the boss room without much trouble.
As the light sphere flared with dazzling brightness, a massive monster appeared — equal in size to the Goblin King, carrying a bow on its back and short blades at its waist — the Kobold King.

The moment it appeared, the Kobold King used【Stealth】to vanish. But with【Vital Sense】, its location was completely exposed, and the fight was over in an instant.
