Konbini Ossan Volume 4 Chapter 25 — The Strongest Delivery Service Plan
I paused my work at the factory and headed to the orphanage to hear the details from Isabella.
“So, I’d appreciate it if you could tell me exactly what happened.”
“Um, I’m not sure what you mean by ‘so,’ but you’re talking about the kids going into the dungeon, right?”
I nodded, and she began explaining the situation in detail.
Apparently, the whole thing started with the magic tools I had given them.
Back when I took Joan and the others into a dungeon for level training, I had assessed the danger and equipped the delivery boys and girls with even better magic tools.
In fact, the soldier gear I once explained to Marceline was just a mass-produced version of what I gave the children.
In other words, the kids were actually equipped better than soldiers.
The high-frequency blades were made of rare metals that neither broke nor dulled, the anti-blade robes were crafted from durable yet lightweight monster leather, and I had also given them several protective magic stones — plus a few offensive ones for emergencies.
With that much gear, they could easily fend off both thugs and monsters.
And once they had all that, what would a group of curious children think? Simple. They wanted to try using it.
Normally, that would’ve stayed as just a thought. But since some of them had already experienced a dungeon with Joan, their fear of the unknown had faded.
And so, curiosity got the better of them — they secretly entered a dungeon.
“Fortunately, they all came back safely. But if one of them had been seriously hurt, it would’ve been too late.
…
Please, could you do something about this? I know they used your tools without permission, and I’m really sorry for that, but I can’t handle this on my own.”
Isabella lowered her head, her voice full of guilt.
“Please, raise your head. If anything, this was my responsibility. I should’ve anticipated that they might do something like this.
…
I’m the one at fault for not taking precautions. You’re not to blame, Isabella.”
“I… I see. Thank you.”
She looked up again, still a little uncertain.
“Anyway, let’s focus on what to do about the children. You’ve already warned them, haven’t you?”
“Yes, but it seems some of them got a taste for leveling up by defeating monsters. I’ve heard a few are still sneaking into the dungeon.”
“I see. Well, that’s understandable.”
In this world, gaining levels is a precious asset. The higher your level, the stronger your body. Sometimes, it can even open the path to becoming an adventurer.
For the orphans, that was something far more tangible and valuable than money or status.
“In that case, forbidding it outright would be a mistake. Forcing them to stop would only make them rebel.”
Instead, it would be more rational to channel their curiosity — their motivation — in a productive direction.
“So, what do you plan to do?”
“Simple. Let’s have the children dive into the dungeon.”
“…What?”
Isabella tilted her head, confused.
“Yes. Let’s call it the ‘Strongest Delivery Service’ plan.”
At that, Isabella sighed, clearly exasperated.
“Haah… and what exactly does that mean?”
