Konbini Ossan Volume 10 Chapter 21 — A Tearful Scream
“This is the end.”
Kanehama declared this as he pointed his sword at Naitō, who lay collapsed on the ground.
However… it seemed Kanehama had yet to fully steel his resolve. He kept his sword raised, hesitating.
Seeing that, Naitō ground his teeth with a sharp creak.
“Hey… don’t screw with me.”
His voice carried a trace of anger.
At the same time, he activated some kind of skill, releasing even greater power than before, his body glowing with a sinister red light.
“You’re the Hero, aren’t you!? Your job is to fight, to kill each other, right!?”
And then, empowered by a buff that surpassed even my debuffs, Naitō forcibly rose to his feet.
“Don’t half-ass it! Fight me properly, kill me!”
“Guh!”
Naitō lunged at Kanehama, driving him back with a relentless barrage of punches.
“At this point, and you’re still holding back!? If we don’t kill each other, then what the hell is this!? That’s your role, isn’t it!? Don’t start pulling this crap now!”
Shouting in fury, Naitō continued his assault.
And in his eyes, there were even faint traces of tears.
Kanehama was forced entirely onto the defensive, and the situation quickly turned against him.
“Kanehama-kun! I’ll take over!”
I leapt forward, switching places with the struggling Kanehama, and caught Naito’s punch.
Then, with a counter kick, I sent Naitō flying and created distance. He crashed into the rubble, disappearing into a cloud of dust.
“I’ll handle this. You focus on support, Kanehama-kun.”
“…Understood!”
I made it clear… I would be the one to kill Naitō in his place.
“Not bad, old man.”
Naitō rose from the rubble, revealing himself once more.
“If you’re gonna take his place and fight me to the death, then I’m all for it!”
With a savage grin, Naitō charged straight at me.
“Otogi-san! I’ll support you!”
Immediately, Kanehama cast buffs on me. The enhancement from a Hero was immense, I could feel my physical abilities increase dramatically.
“Thank you.”
With just that, I stepped forward and met Naitō head-on.
His heavy punch came at me, and I answered with one of my own.
Our magic-infused fists collided, sparks crackling as they repelled each other, sending us both flying back.
However, despite Naitō’s momentum, I had met his attack with a reflexive strike, and we were evenly matched.
Likely thanks to Kanehama’s buff, I was now surpassing Naitō in strength.
Before Naitō can power himself up any further with his skills… I’ll finish this.
