Konbini Ossan Volume 9 Chapter 10 — Overwhelming Difference in Strength
“Yeah, Tiana.”
Perhaps inspired by Ichiro Suzuki, who had already made the first move, Tiana and Tio begin moving as well.
The homunculi move quickly with tricky, coordinated maneuvers, but for the two adventurers, fighting monsters that rely on teamwork like this is nothing unfamiliar.
“Stop.”
Tiana murmurs, and then spreads a field of freezing air using ice magic. The cold is so intense that the surrounding trees and plants begin to freeze.
Caught within this chill, the homunculi’s movements slow, and their coordination begins to break down.
Naturally, there is no reason to let this opportunity slip away.
“Taking it down.”
Tio closes the distance in an instant and swings his magic saber at the neck of one homunculus.
The sharp magical blade slices clean through its neck, and with a dull thud the head falls to the ground.
“Grrr! Unforgivable! Not one but two of my masterpiece homunculi!”
Medidban sounds furious. The remaining three homunculi gather together and charge straight toward Tio.
However, Tio responds calmly. He immediately retreats, joins up with Tiana, and then releases a spell.
“Don’t come closer.”
“Be blown away.”
The two spells merge together, forming a storm of ice that launches toward the homunculi.
Sensing danger from the raging wind and blades of ice, the homunculi quickly retreat.
“Guaaaah!”
But they cannot retreat completely in time.
Two of the homunculi are sacrificed as shields, and only the one capable of speaking barely survives.
“To think you had assembled warriors of this caliber! In that case-”
“I won’t allow it.”
Just as the homunculus attempts to use some hidden move, Yairo has already moved behind it.
From its blind spot, she thrusts her knife straight into its heart.
The blade pierces through from the back and bursts out of its chest.
“Guh!”
It is naturally a fatal wound. The homunculus tries to turn toward Yairo in a final attempt to retaliate, but it is useless.
Yairo is already gone from that spot.
“I… never expected things would end like this…”
Those are its final words before the homunculus collapses.
At first it seemed as though all enemies had been eliminated.
But in the next moment, Ichiro Suzuki moves.
“Here, perhaps?”
Using wind magic, he conjures a tornado in the distance.
It forms directly behind me, precisely interfering with the position of the “sixth” homunculus that had been aiming to strike me from behind.
The homunculus instinctively stops its movement.
That brief hesitation is more than enough.
Yairo beheads it in a single strike. The cleanly severed head pops into the air before dropping to the ground and rolling away.
With that, all six enemy homunculi are destroyed.
Our victory is complete.
“Thank you, Ichiro Suzuki.”
“No, no. Someone like you could have handled that easily. It was merely a move to keep our cards hidden.”
Indeed, even if that enemy had attacked me from behind, there was no chance it could have injured me.
Still, preserving me as our greatest combat asset and preventing the enemy from realizing it was thanks to Ichiro Suzuki’s quick action.
“In any case, this makes things clear. Medidban is aware of our movements. We need to regroup as soon as possible.”
We all nod at Ichiro Suzuki’s words.
However, the battle is over.
For now, we should return to the village.

Tio and Tiana remind me of the twins from ‘Isekai Yururi Kikou’ and they're so adorable (dangerously 😂). Others were amazing too! Metidovan's struggle would be tantamount to hardcore mode!
