Soul Devourer Chapter 3 Episode 22 — An Unknown Group Before the Entrance
The Guildmaster, who had come rushing to us in a flurry after we finished investigating the base, spoke while gasping for breath.
“The Hunter Guild has been attacked by an unidentified group!”
An attack on the Hunter Guild was unprecedented, and suspecting it might be connected to the recent riot, we immediately hurried to the scene.
When we arrived without much delay, we saw a group clad in what looked like uniform military attire, each gripping their own weapon, standing neatly lined up in front of the Hunter Guild.
Then, a large man who had been sitting cross-legged in front of the Hunter Guild’s entrance noticed us.
He lightly leapt over the heads of his group and, after putting a bit of distance between us, opened his mouth.
“Yo, I recognize that geezer face. If I remember right… you’re the Guildmaster of Japan's Hunter Guild — Tadāki Ogawa, yeah?”
“Yeah, that’s right. What is your name?”
“Hahaha! Don’t you recognize these uniforms?”
The Guildmaster let his gaze travel from top to bottom, carefully examining the military uniform the man was wearing.
“…Huh!? That dragon embroidered on your chest… the symbol of one of Chi*a’s nine most powerful clans;「Kowloon」— Are you hunters from China!?”

“That’s right. Hahaha! I wanted to see that look on your face, a mix of shock and fear, so I busted my ass learning Japanese!”
“W-What is your objective? Why attack the Hunter Guild!?”
“Who knows? If you want to hear our objective, then try prying it out of us by force! You guys have been itching for it, right? Go wild!”

With that brief order, the neatly lined-up group let out a ground-shaking roar and charged at the onlookers, civilians and hunters alike, swinging their weapons indiscriminately.
Seeing this, those gathered here;「King of Swords」,「Ifrit Legion」, and「Valkyries of Restoration」, sprang into action.
“Everyone, protect the citizens!”
“They’re invaders! Show no mercy! Hesitate, and you’ll be the one killed!”
“Bring the wounded here! Leave the healing to us!”
As expected of S-rank hunters. Their decisions were swift, their instructions precise, and they responded immediately.
“Oho… so those are this country’s S-rank hunters. And two of them are women… I prefer the one with the bigger tits.”

Yet none of that had happened, and the attack on the Hunter Guild had been allowed to occur with ease.

The large man in front of me pulled his right foot back, lowering his stance deeply, and drew his right fist back to his waist.
The next instant, spiderweb-like cracks ran across the ground as he closed the distance at explosive speed, his massive fist rushing straight toward me.
