Konbini Ossan Volume 7 Chapter 13 — Analog Circuits
About half a month after beginning development of magic conduction circuits, all of the components I had initially planned were completed.
There were times when I had to rely on the power of «Calculator».
Thanks to that, I gradually grew accustomed to the side effect of emotional amplification, and now I could keep it activated for a fairly long time without issue.
Incidentally, it was only because I had studied mechanical engineering at university that I was able to obtain solutions using «Calculator».
For that reason, this part wasn’t something I could leave to Arisa. I had to handle the development myself, which made it quite a demanding task.
In any case, through that process, the magic conduction circuits were successfully completed.
Well, to be precise, it was the development of the core components used in magic conduction circuits that was finished.
Going forward, there would likely be occasions where new components would need to be developed as needed.
And now, it was time to unveil the completed components.
“Alright, Arisa. These are the components of the magic conduction circuit I’ve finished!”
She needed to understand the finished products too, after all. That was why holding this little unveiling was necessary.
“There are quite a few of them. Can you explain them one by one?”
“Sure. First up is this: the mana conducting wires used in circuits. Using conductive magic steel would be too expensive, so I substituted it with cheaper metals.
…
The surface is coated with a magic-power insulating material.”
As I said that, I lifted the coil of mana conducting wires for her to see.
“By the way, for wires where this kind of coating works, I’ll use cheap metals. But for difficult cases, like ultra-fine wiring, I plan to use conductive magic steel instead.”
“I see. So you’re changing the type of wire depending on the application.”
Mm-hmm~ mm-hmm~, Arisa nodded as she examined the mana conducting wires.
“Next, this is a Mana Resistor. It’s basically made from a material containing the metal Dracium, which has properties that repel magic particles.”
The metal I had once discovered and named Dracium turned out to be a very convenient material for making resistors, so I made use of it.
Basically, the higher the Dracium content, the higher the resistance.
Different-colored lines are drawn on the surface according to resistance value, making it easy to tell the resistance at a glance.
“And over here are several capacitors. There are three types: magic-pressure capacitors, magic-particle capacitors, and mana capacitors that store both.”
“There are more than three, though. What’s the difference?”
“That comes down to differences in structure and materials. Each has slightly different properties, so they’re used depending on the purpose. There are also differences in magic capacity.”
“Ohh, I see.”
Nodding in understanding, Arisa examined the capacitors one after another. This was the kind of thing you wouldn’t really grasp until you actually used them.
Going into detailed explanations for each one would be endless, so this level of explanation was enough for now.
“And then, these are the magic-particle diode and the magic-pressure diode.”
The next items I picked up were two relatively large components.
“They look bigger than the others.”
“Yeah. To reproduce the properties of diodes, I had to incorporate several structures and internal magic circles. They ended up being bulky.
…
In the future, I plan to make smaller versions, or ones with reduced or separated functions depending on the use.”
As mentioned, reproducing diodes took considerable effort. While recreating the rectifying effect itself was simple, reproducing the other effects required ingenuity.
As a result, the diodes inevitably became quite large.
When actually assembling circuits in the future, I would probably separate out only the necessary functions according to the purpose and use them that way.

E/N:
Oh man, Diodes, Capacitors… It's yabai! Already been over 5 years I had studied about this last time… The numericals were death march for me!
Also, this week I'll be extremely busy, College + a Doujin Cosplay Event where I'll be volunteering as a translator for VVIPS from Japan, so… Wish me luck guys!
And so, enjoy a week worth of chapters!
Stay tuned!
