Soul Devourer Chapter 1 Episode 58 — Traps and Formless Monsters
When I entered the dungeon, stone walls neatly surrounded me on all sides, with torches lit at even intervals.
Relying on the light, I advanced carefully, keeping my guard up toward the walls and what lay ahead. No monsters attacked, and just when my vigilance began to loosen—
CLANG!!
“Hm?”
A nasty sound rose from beneath me.
When I looked down, the floor had vanished, replaced by a forest of metal spikes, and I began falling straight toward them as if being swallowed.
While falling, I shifted my posture, used the momentum, and tried to destroy the spikes with my fist.
DOGAN!!!
They shattered easily, giving me solid footing. I sprang back up to the original path in one leap.
“Is this a trap-focused dungeon?”
If so, this place offers little benefit for me. Still, I'm only at the beginning. There’s a chance monsters appear deeper inside.
Holding onto that hope, I continued forward. Another click sounded, the ground sank slightly, and the next moment, poison arrows fired in unison from both walls.
I immediately drew my short sword and cut down every incoming arrow.
“I’ve got【Toxin Resistance】, so it wouldn’t be fatal, but there’s no reason not to be careful.”
After breaking through several more traps by brute force, I felt I’d gone quite deep when a clanking noise echoed, accompanied by the presence of something drawing near.
What appeared were monsters clad in pitch-black full plate armor, wielding fine longswords and round shields.
Its name was Living Armor. If knowledge from fantasy stories holds true, it’s armor transformed into a monster, with no physical body inside.
“In that case… the paralysis poison on my short sword won’t work. I’d have to break the armor directly to defeat it.”
Still, I’d already beaten plenty of A-rank monsters. No way I’d struggle now.
The three Living Armors present moved at once. The front one swung its sword repeatedly. Each strike was on par with an A-rank swordsman, and an ordinary hunter would need a fair amount of time to take them down.
“I broke an Armored Centipede’s tough body with one punch. Splitting this thick armor should be easy.”
The corridor was too narrow to slip behind them, so I vanished using【Stealth】and cut them down directly from the front.

He could take notes from Bone Daddy's book. Using undeads for 'dismantling' traps. 😏
