The next morning, I left the house early.
While heading toward the last A-rank dungeon in Tokyo, my thoughts kept circling around one thing — moving.
With every dungeon run earning me somewhere between tens of millions up to a full hundred million yen, I wanted my parents living somewhere far safer.
After that Stampede and the recent hunter-related crimes, normal apartments with basic security were nowhere near enough.
A building with heavy security and hunters stationed as guards would let me focus on hunting without worrying about my family.
“But I can’t rely on D-rank or lower hunters for safety. At the very least, the guards need to be mid-tier — C-rank or higher…”
Of course, those kinds of buildings were usually home to CEOs or politicians. It wasn’t easy to find an empty unit.
While thinking that it was going to be a pain to find a place, one option suddenly came to mind — Clan-managed housing.
Security would be airtight. Hunters would be living there. If something happened, the response would be immediate.

I sighed, wondering what I should do, when a voice called out behind me.
“Matsubara-sama.”
I turned around. Two women stood there, wrapped in pure white vestments traced with gold lines, hoods pulled low over their faces.
“And you are?”
“We are hunters from the clan「Valkyries of Restoration」. Would you grant us a moment of your time?”
Another clan whose master was an S-rank hunter — just like the「Blaze Empress Brigade」. A sense of déjà vu hit me.
These two were here for recruitment too?
“Are you here to recruit me as well?”
“As well?”
“I was approached by the「Blaze Empress Brigade」recently with an offer.”
“Have you accepted their invitation?”
“No, I declined.”
“I see…”
Judging from their tone, their purpose was probably the same. But since I’d just been thinking about relocating, maybe I should ask about clan housing before I refuse.
“Our Lady has instructed us to escort you to her. We were not told the details, but we understand you may be busy. Would you be willing to hear what our master wishes to say?”
I had been considering bringing up the topic myself, but they asked politely before I could speak.
“All right. I’ll hear her out.”
“Thank you.”
They bowed deeply, turned, and began walking. I followed silently behind.
