Soul Devourer Chapter 1 Episode 53 — Convenient for Me

The boss room, just like the previous field, was an abandoned graveyard. But the thick fog was gone, giving me a clear view.

Ten light orbs descended from above, along with one larger orb. They shone brightly, revealing eleven monsters.

Ten Liches — and one more wearing an expensive-looking robe, holding the same skull-topped staff… except this one had pulsating red lines running along it.

【Appraisal】revealed its name: Elder Lich. Every one of the Liches could use all four elemental magics, and the Elder Lich could summon an army with【Necromancy】.

But I could do the same, so I didn’t feel threatened. And honestly, I didn’t even need to use the same tricks to deal with them.

“Alright… I’ll finish this in an instant!”

I activated【Physical Boost】and vanished with【Stealth】. Closing the distance in a blink, I layered on【Covert Strike】s and took down a Lich with a single slash.

They had【Vital Sense】, so they knew where I was — but they couldn’t track me fast enough.

Only after one of them fell did fire spears, water blades, and other magic start flying my way. Simple spells, but with enough power to one-shot any B-rank or lower hunter.

Too bad for them, none of it could keep up with my speed. While they flung magic into empty space, I cut down another, and then another.

Fifty Skeleton Knights charged with raised swords. As soon as I cut one down, earth bullets and wind arrows came flying in.

“So damn annoying!”

I weaved through the Knights like a gust of wind, tearing through them and rushing straight toward the Liches.

But they weren’t my real target. I vanished with【Stealth】and appeared behind the Elder Lich.

The moment it turned around, my dagger pierced its skull and split its body cleanly in half.

Probably because this was a boss room — a special space where nothing ends until every monster is defeated.

“For me, that’s perfect.”

Ready for the clean-up, I charged forward again.
