I had already cleared most of the nearby dungeons, except for the Kobold-type dungeon.

Of course, I would clear the Kobold-type dungeon as well, but the boss — the Kobold King — was troublesome.

As I moved between gravestones, suddenly a bony hand burst out from the ground.

Appearing before me was a Skeleton Knight, armed with a badly chipped longsword and round shield, and a Skeleton Magician, clad in a tattered robe and holding a staff.

What they had in common was the skill【Life Detection】. Against this skill, concealing my presence or magic power, even using【Stealth】to vanish, was meaningless.

That left no choice but to fight head-on…

“Well then, that just means my higher stats give me the advantage.”

I shattered the longsword in the clash of blades, and cut down the Skeleton Knight along with its shield.

Then, before the Skeleton Magician could cast a spell, I closed the distance and struck it down as well.

My name is Takahashi Izumi. My dream is to one day work as a school teacher, and I’m a second-year university student.

That’s when a classmate from university spoke to me.

We only knew each other by face, but since they were short one member as well, we decided to form a temporary party.

I’d seen on TV and in the papers that crimes inside dungeons were rampant, but since I’d never been a victim myself, it felt like something distant, happening to other people.

The dungeon we went to was one of the unpopular ones. The atmosphere and the monsters that appeared there made it obvious why.

It was my first time in that dungeon, but their skills and teamwork were solid, so the clear was progressing smoothly.

When we reached the boss room, they suddenly stopped.

“What’s wrong?”

Then they turned to me —

“We’re tired of putting up with you.”

“…Eh? What do you mean by that?”

Their atmosphere changed. Even though they were smiling the same as before, it suddenly felt unsettling.

“Well, since we brought you all the way here, you’ll have to give us something in return.”

“W-what do you mean!? We’re a party, aren’t we?”

“A party? Hahaha! That’s only what you thought!”

“We didn’t invite you to clear a dungeon. We brought you here to disgrace you.”

“W-what are you saying—”

“I’ve thought you were cute for a while now. And here, we don’t have to worry about anyone interfering.”

“Hey, that’s enough, right? I can’t hold it in anymore.”

“Me too. I can’t wait to see you crying and begging for mercy.”

No way… that I’d actually get caught up in a crime like this… I have to run, now!

“Oh no you don’t, you’re not getting away.”

They grabbed my wrists and pinned me down.

“Somebody! Help me!”

“Hahaha! There’s no way anyone’s coming here!”

And then, a man’s hand reached to grab my chest —

“St-stop it!”
