On the way to the boss room, I remembered the existence of an essential item.

After the encounter with that PK party, it had completely slipped my mind.

“That’s right. I was already planning to head home today anyway. My first real fight against people wore me down more than I expected… I’ll just go back.”

I left the dungeon, sold off the materials, and headed to a nearby hunter shop.

“Welcome!”

“Where can I find the《Necklace of the Brave Warrior》?”

“Right over here.”

The shopkeeper pointed to a display shelf, where a golden necklace gleamed. I picked it up and paid for it at the counter.

“Thanks for your business!”

Turning the newly purchased item over in my hand, I headed home.

Bosses in C-rank dungeons and higher possessed skills with intimidation effects.

If you went in unprepared, you’d be knocked unconscious and killed without being able to do a thing.

Supposedly, if your Spirit value was higher than the boss’s, you wouldn’t faint, but…

This necklace reduced the effect of intimidation. Better safe than sorry.

The moment I entered the boss room, a glowing sphere lit up, and a monster larger than an orc or an ogre appeared — the Goblin King.

It carried a massive greatsword and a round shield nearly as tall as itself. Probably an advanced species of Goblin Knight.

That’s right. I got【Discernment】earlier.

The Goblin King was like a hybrid of magician and knight. The level difference was nearly twenty, but my ability values were all higher.

Maybe the item wasn’t even necessary? Well, with both my stats and the item, I can probably nullify the intimidation effect completely.

“GWOOOOOOOH!”

The Goblin King let out a roar so loud it shook the air itself. That must have been【Roar】, carrying the intimidation effect.

I closed the distance in an instant. Its greatsword came crashing down, tearing into the ground and sending tremors through the floor.

As the shaking settled, I sprinted forward and vanished with【Stealth】.

“Guoh!?”

Leaping behind it, I severed that thick neck.

The gap in ability values was so large, the fight ended easily.

Regardless of level, the more monsters I defeated, the more my stats grew — so this outcome was only natural.
