The Second seat of the〈Semi-Tsar〉, Vlas, who had secretly recruited S-Rank-class major criminals, had reserved an entire luxury restaurant and summoned the masters of several dark clans.
On the surface, they appeared to be unremarkable mid-tier clans.
Behind the scenes, however, they were full-fledged criminal organizations involved in illegal trading, assassinations, mercenary work, and other illicit activities.
The clan masters who led these rough men were all veterans who had survived countless life-and-death situations.
Their sharp, blade-like gazes converged upon Vlas.

“Thank you for gathering despite your busy schedules.”
Gently swirling the wine in his glass, Vlas spoke calmly.
“There is only one reason I called you here today… I have a job for you.”
A brief silence followed.
Eventually, one of the clan masters asked in a low voice:
“...A job for us? Then this is... that kind of work?”
“You catch on quickly.”
Vlas nodded without hesitation.
“The target is the Fourth〘Regalia〙currently visiting our country, Yuito Matsubara.”
The moment they heard that name, every clan master widened their eyes and fell silent.
〘Regalia〙.
A title reserved for nationally recognized heroes and monsters alike.
“The reward for success is a bounty. In addition, all of your accumulated crimes will be erased.”
Vlas continued quietly.
“In other words, you will no longer be targets of our purges. Not a bad deal, is it?”
“...And if we refuse?”
Another clan master broke the silence.
“You have only remained alive because I allowed it.”

“Many of your subordinates will die in the fighting… but you will survive. Inside that prison.”
“...I understand.”
In the oppressive atmosphere, someone finally spoke.
“But the target is a〘Regalia〙. Even if we attack together, the outcome is decided from the beginning-!”
“It is, indeed.”
Vlas admitted it without hesitation.
“He may be a newcomer, but he was acknowledged as a〘Regalia〙. His strength rivals that of the〈Semi-Tsar〉. For ordinary S-Ranks like yourselves, the burden is far too heavy.”
Silence once again filled the room.
“But don't worry.”
The corners of Vlas's mouth curled upward.
“Our preparations are thorough. The major criminals imprisoned in "that" prison have been released and incorporated into the operation. They're participating in exchange for a bounty and full pardon… they won't run, and they won't betray us.”
“Y-You released those lunatics...?”
“Their strength is genuine.”
“If they're being granted amnesty, they probably won't try anything foolish.”
“Furthermore, with the items we've prepared, Yuito Matsubara can be significantly weakened.”
Vlas spoke with absolute confidence.
“I will monitor the situation from the shadows myself. If anything goes wrong, I will intervene. There is no need for concern.”

The clan masters could not make their decision lightly.

There was no guarantee whatsoever that Vlas would keep his promises.
The only person he truly acknowledged in this world was Ekaterina.
To him, they were nothing more than disposable pawns.
But they lacked the power to resist.
There had never been any real choice from the start.
The only path available was obedience.

“Then I take it none of you object?”
Vlas nodded in satisfaction.
“Sorry for the short notice, but the operation begins today. If word reaches Lady Ekaterina, this plan will fail… we'll eliminate him quietly inside the dungeon.”
“Where is the operation taking place?”
“The No-Life King's Dungeon. That's where he's heading right now.”
“...I see.”
Although Vlas offered the “job”…
In reality, participation was mandatory.
