Then he turned to the three Hunters waiting behind him and issued a calm order.
“Junyu. Xingyu. Suyu. You’re next. Do not disgrace yourselves as those before you.” (Chairman)
“Understood.”
“We won’t fail. Unlike them, we possess special powers.”
“Mm. Leave it to us.”
“…See that you don’t disappoint me as well.” (Haoran)
With a small nod, Haoran teleported the three away.
Shortly after, their fierce battle with Matsubara Yuito unfolded.
And the result…?
Defeat.
Watching the situation unravel, the Chairman’s composure shattered entirely.
Even Haoran’s expression deepened into disappointment.
And yet-!
At the same time, a flicker of interest ignited within him.
That Japanese man might be the real deal.
“H-Haoran! We must retreat immediately! He’s too dangerous! If we don’t vanish now, I’ll be killed!”
The panicked Chairman shouted.
Haoran responded in his usual calm tone.
“Chairman, rest assured. Even if he possesses Level 10【Presence Detection】and【Mana Detection】, we are outside his range. He won't notice us.”

“Even if, by some chance, he does notice us, I will teleport you alone at once. And besides… if we withdraw now, our dignity will be utterly destroyed. So… I think I shall test him slightly myself.”

Reluctantly, the Chairman nodded.
Ignoring him, Haoran stepped forward and invoked【Lightning Magic】.
“…Let us test him lightly.”
He cast【Lightning Magic】, «Rakurai • Lightning Strike» toward a location some distance away, on the ground.
A thunderous roar and flash of light followed… or at least should have.
Instead, the lightning vanished midway without a trace.
In the next instant-!
The lightning that had supposedly disappeared, reappeared above Yuito’s head as if skipping across space-!
And struck him directly.
