Konbini Ossan Volume 10 Chapter 5 — Koichi Nomura

To gather information about the summoned individual who had rushed out, I returned to the vehicle.

“Kanehama, do you know the name of that classmate who just came out?”

“Of course. Koichi Nomura. His skill is «Skill Mimicry». He can copy any skill he has seen once, though he can’t imitate cheat-level skills and there’s a limit to how many he can hold.
He’s basically one of the top members of Naitōs group, the same delinquent clique that was close to Naitō even back in our original world.”

At Kanehama’s words, I remember as well.

Come to think of it, when we were summoned to this world, there was a trio of delinquent boys who surrounded me along with Arisa. He must have been one of them.

“I see. He’s troublesome as an enemy, but if we step in, it shouldn’t be an issue, correct?”

“Yes, most likely. The four of us have skills that can’t be mimicked, and his stats are his own, so suppressing him through pure physical ability is easy.
At best, he’s only around the level of an A-rank adventurer, or even below that.”

At Kanehama’s words, everyone lets out a wry smile.

“By normal standards, an A-rank adventurer is already quite formidable,”

Metidovan interjects.

“Well, that may be true. For now, let’s start by subduing and capturing him without injury.”

With that, after briefly discussing our plan, Kanehama and I head to the front lines.

At the front, Nomura continues advancing despite being struck repeatedly by Dye Rounds, while our unit engages him while retreating.

He has likely mimicked a skill similar to constant mana regeneration. Since he maintains more mana than the dye rounds can absorb, the binding effect of the hardened solvent isn’t achieving full restraint.

“Nomura! Stop this now!”

Kanehama steps forward directly in front of him.

“Shut up! I want to stop too!”

As he shouts, Nomura raises his hand toward Kanehama and unleashes a barrage of magic spells in rapid succession.

He has likely copied multiple elemental skills and is using them simultaneously.

Despite the overwhelming barrage, Kanehama remains calm.

“Hmph!”

With a single swing of his sword, the pressure alone completely nullifies Nomura’s magic.

“The difference in strength is obvious! Nomura, surrender!”

“Shut up!”

Nomura cannot stop himself by his own will. Because of that, he is forced to engage in combat with Kanehama, who is clearly acting as an opponent before him.

This is one of the weaknesses of mind control or domination-type skills. Since they force obedience to commands, they cannot adapt flexibly to changing situations, making it easy to lure targets.

Nomura, whose physical abilities appear to be enhanced by skills, throws a punch at Kanehama.

Kanehama catches the fist with one hand, then catches the second punch the same way.

Grabbing both of Nomura’s arms and restraining him, Kanehama calls out.

“Otogi-san! I leave the rest to you!”

At his signal, I act.

With Nomura immobilized, I generate restraints made of an alloy infused with dark matter, binding his limbs.

With his physical abilities significantly reduced by debuffs, Nomura quickly loses all freedom of movement.

“Ugh… S-Stop…”

Even to the very end, he resists the fight, collapsing as the weight of the restraints and the debuffs render him completely unable to act.

Thus, we successfully neutralize and secure Nomura.

Now, we should be able to investigate the effects of Naitō’s skill in detail.
