Konbini Ossan Volume 8 Chapter 34 — The Demon King Army’s Circumstances
Once everyone entered the elevator, it immediately began ascending to the designated floor.
Our destination was the top floor of the Otogi Building, the level that houses my personal office.
This floor contains not only my office but also minimal living quarters, allowing me to stay comfortably during particularly busy periods.
There are also several conference rooms, and we plan to use one of them to speak with the Demon King’s Army.
As for my home, it is built separately within the headquarters grounds of the Otogi Building. I normally move between there and this top floor.
When we arrived, I stepped out first and took the lead.
“We’ve arrived. This is the top floor of the Otogi Building. The conference room is this way, please follow me.”
The members of the Demon King’s Army trail behind me.
Arisa also walks at my side toward the conference room.
“Yūichi. Should I come too?”
“Yes. It’s better if you’re there. Fewer mistakes that way.”
With Arisa constantly and naturally activating «Calculator», the likelihood of my misjudging something decreases significantly. Having her present is reassuring.
“Then I’ll join the negotiations.”
“Please do.”
Soon, we arrive at the conference room.
“This way.”
I open the door and gesture for them to enter.
As the Demon King’s Army steps inside, they murmur in surprise. It is the top-floor conference room, after all.
One entire wall is made of glass, offering an impressive view.
They likely did not realize how high we had come. The room briefly fills with excitement.
But once everyone is seated and I take my place at the far end of the table, the noise subsides.
“Please, take whichever seats you prefer.”
At my prompting, they finally settle down.
“Before we begin negotiations, there is one important matter. I would like the Demon King’s Army to enlighten us first.”
The atmosphere tightens at my words.
“We know nothing of your circumstances. While we reside in this kingdom, the information we receive is inevitably biased. Under such conditions, we cannot build an equal cooperative relationship.

Therefore, I would like you to share the foundational knowledge; the internal affairs of the Demon King’s Army, the situation in your territory, your political structure, and so forth.”
Vladgaria nods.
“In that case, Satira would be the most suitable among us.”
“Satira-san, would you please explain?”
“Understood.”
Though she briefly shows an expression of reluctance, Satira agrees.
“However, I am uncertain where to begin. Let us start with the origin of the war between this country, the Runegard Kingdom, and the Demon King’s Army, along with the entirety of the Demon King’s territory.”
Thus began our first true negotiation talk with the Demon King’s Army.
