Soul Devourer Chapter 2 Episode 8 — Things Won’t Go the Way They Expect
The first ones to rush me were a swordsman, a spearman, and a brawler.
Their stats — which I checked with【Discernment】— were around a D-rank Hunter's level.
Grinning like idiots, the swordsman reached me first and swung for my neck… only for his weapon to snap apart.
Next came a spear thrust aimed at my heart, and a punch meant to gouge out my solar plexus. Neither left so much as a mark.
Their eyes went wide, and they immediately backed off. Since physical attacks didn’t work, they switched to testing magic.
Two mages stepped forward from the group and fired【Fire Magic】and【Wind Magic】at me.
The fiery spear and slicing winds slammed into me but couldn’t deal any damage.
“You’re kidding, right!? Weapons don’t work, magic doesn’t work — nothing hurts him!?”
“Ha! You’re just weak! Looks like you’ve got at least the minimum strength to entertain us. My turn!”
Those who attacked first retreated, biting their lips, while slightly stronger members stepped out with filthy grins on their faces.
They shouted things like “My turn! Get back!” and began attacking one after another with weapons and magic.
But no matter what they used, not a single one could even scratch me.
“Seriously… what good is it if you idiots get tired? Our job is to beat him down and entertain Daiki-san… Enough! You all stand back.”
The guide — the man who brought me here — ordered the others away. Two larger men with a greatsword and a double-bladed axe stepped up beside him.
The guide inhaled deeply, drew his fists to his waist, then in an instant appeared right in front of me.
His punch drilled into my solar plexus and sent me flying across the arena.
“““““UOOOOOOOH!!”””””
The onlookers roared in excitement.
The guide stared at his fist, but when I stood up again without a hint of injury, his face twisted like he had bitten into something rotten.
That hit was stronger than the guy who tried to recruit me before. He’s at least A-rank in raw power.
Because they were holding my parents hostage, I couldn’t defend or counter, so I let the greatsword and axe-wielders hit me again and again.
I was blown away repeatedly, but even so, I took no damage.
On top of that, A-rank-class mages launched【Ice Magic】and【Lightning Magic】at me.
Ice arrows and bolts of lightning struck my body — and I still got up without issue.
They had all the advantages — I was forbidden to defend or retaliate — yet they couldn’t hurt me at all.
Lower-rank members began to tremble in fear. The upper-rank ones started to burn with frustration.
“Damn it! You’re also banned from using skills! If you don’t obey, your parents die!”
“I haven’t used a single skill since you ordered me not to defend.”
“...Tch— yes. Yes, understood. We’ll go all out now!”
He finished talking to someone — probably the Master in the VIP box — then glared at me sharply.
“From here on out, we’re serious. Get ready to lose your arms and legs — hell, maybe we’ll kill you. …Don’t worry, though. We’ll send your parents to the same place right after.”
(E/N: Bro, sybau… You won't even know what'll hit you 😒)
His attitude shifted. The mockery vanished, replaced by bloodlust boiling beneath his fighting spirit.
At that moment my consciousness was seized by the Urge to Kill.

The inhuman monster who cleared an S-Rank Dungeon alone took a single step forward.

E/N:
It's like a fight scene from a South Indian movie… (do search it on YouTube, it's effin' hilarious 😂)
A bit cringey, a bit edgy but please remember, this is a wish-fulfilment power fantasy!
Stay tuned for the finale!
