Soul Devourer Chapter 1 Episode 33 — Saving the Parent and Child

“GUAAAHHHH!”

Clutching it's heavily bleeding wrists, the troll let out a scream that echoed throughout the area.

I rushed toward the mother shielding her daughter and called out to her.


“Quickly, we need to get out of here! Can you stand?”


“Uh… y-yes, I can!”


“I’ll escort you to the nearest shelter. Stay calm and follow me.”


“O-okay!”


The mother carried her injured daughter on her back while I checked the shelter’s location. Keeping alert of our surroundings, we began to move.


“GWOOOOHHHH!”


But since I had to match the mother’s pace, we couldn’t put much distance between us and the troll.

From behind, the troll — whose wrist had already regenerated — charged after us in a rage.

I’d suspected as much from its stats when I used【Appraisal】, but it was clear now: even if its limbs were severed, they would immediately regenerate.


“Alright, how do I take this thing down…”


Normally, to defeat a troll, you burn its wounds with【Fire Magic】to stop its regeneration before finishing it off.

But trolls also have high resistance to both physical and magical attacks, so defeating one takes considerable time. I couldn’t afford to waste that much — I had to get the two of them to safety first.


“Alright then, in that case—”


I pulled out the《Enchantment Potion》I’d obtained while clearing a dungeon earlier and poured it over my dagger.

The blade turned a poisonous shade of violet, glowing with a sickly hue.

This troll didn’t have【Poison Resistance】, and the deadly venom from a Queen Hornet of the same rank wouldn’t leave it unscathed.

I warned the frightened mother and daughter to stay put, then used【Stealth】to disappear and approach the troll.

I drove my dagger deep into its thick, log-like neck, then returned to the pair and watched the creature carefully.


“GWO… OOoohhh…”


Suddenly, it began clawing at its throat in agony, collapsed to its knees, and stopped moving altogether.

As I thought, abnormal status attacks were highly effective.


“Alright, let’s move — quickly.”


“Y-yes!”


Protecting them from any remaining threats, I safely escorted the mother and daughter to the shelter.

      Ah yes, just throw crap at that Capra demon from outside the gate and kill it, lmfao! And those pesky snipers in Blighttown are nothing against literal crap! That's freaking hilarious, I'm dead!
