Since Marceline seemed interested, I decided to explain everything at once.

“Then how do you plan to do it?”
“Oda Nobunaga.”

Marceline tilted her head in confusion.
Well, of course she wouldn’t know about a warlord from Earth’s Sengoku period. I gave a fuller explanation.
“He was a famous knight from my world. He introduced a powerful new weapon to the battlefield.

The matchlock guns that Oda Nobunaga brought to war — and the method he used to deploy them — were exactly what I wanted to adapt for the High-Frequency Blade.
“The idea is simple: three soldiers perform the same sequence in rotation.

First, the front soldier uses the weapon, then immediately retreats behind the other two. While he’s reloading, the second soldier steps forward and attacks.

Marceline nodded several times as she listened, then responded.
